49m3, Air mattress, 2017, My first thought upon encountering this exhibition space was how I could fill or rather overfill this remarkable place. I wanted a powerful object capable of asserting itself through its form and color against the cold darkness.
Through a play of form, material, and color, a giant pink air mattress stands in contrast to its surroundings.
A tension between opposing forces emerges: the air mattress pushes into the space, yet remains constrained by the architecture that contains it.
